I’m Ivelin Mateev / Think Aloud – music producer, audio engineer, and tutor with over 15 years of experience. I specialize in production, synthesis, sound design, mixing, and mastering, and so far I’ve taught more than 400 students worldwide through courses, masterclasses, and individual mentoring. Alongside teaching, I co-founded the duo BORNE ALOFT, which debuted on Maceo Plex’s label Ellum Audio, and also released solo tracks on Dskonnect Records and Obscura. I’m the founder of the first music production course at SoftUni Creative in Bulgaria, and will be happy to share my experience to support your progress.

Within 12 hours, we’ll explore Ableton Live and cover the essential steps of making music in a software environment - from the first MIDI and audio recordings, through sound design and processing, to arranging and final export. This is a short version of the beginners’ course I usually do, and music theory lectures are not included. No previous experience needed.

In this intermediate course, we’ll build a track from scratch - synthesizing our own sounds, refining the arrangement, diving deeper into mixing techniques, and mastering essentials. With the knowledge gained, you’ll be able to complete your own tracks with greater confidence and bring your musical ideas to life. This level is the natural follow-up for students who finished my beginner course.

This masterclass focuses on mixing a full track from start to finish. The videos cover practical techniques like volume balancing with pink noise, working with reference tracks, shaping the low end, enhancing kick and bass, managing transients, and applying EQ, compression, saturation, stereo width, and limiting. Together, these steps show how to bring clarity, depth, and impact to your mix.
